A love triangle becomes even more complicated in the second book of the Risky Business series, where ultimate choices seem impossible to make. Both the men in the life of Sage Reece are enticing in their own way. One is sophisticated and stylish, while the other is more at home on his motorcycle and going to bars. Yet each would do anything for the woman who means the world to them, and giving her up is not an option for either man. Tiffany Snow interweaves danger with desire to create a romantic entanglement with countless obstacles. The need for answers makes PLAYING DIRTY totally riveting.

After an incident where she could have died, Sage Reece makes a crucial decision about her life. Though two men want her, she feels only one can truly offer her a relationship that might possibly last. Parker Anderson is a great boss and she enjoys being the executive administrative assistant to the investment banker, but she knows he can never fully commit himself to her. So Dean Ryker, a homicide detective in Chicago, is the man with whom she shares any spare time when neither is working. Though they may not be talking of love, Sage and Ryker are only seeing each other. Working with Parker for two years has gone very well professionally, and while he seems to not desire her and Ryker definitely does, keeping thoughts of her boss out of her mind is still not easy.

It seems one unplanned incident after another puts Sage between the two men who were once great friends until another woman made them bitter enemies. She does not want to hurt either Ryker or Parker, as both are very important to her. When it appears someone is out to hurt her, each man wants to make certain she comes to no harm. While the cop should be the one to whom she turns if the need arises, it is often Parker’s name that she thinks of first.

Most times when a woman must choose between two men, I have a clear-cut choice in mind for her. But not this time. Ryker has been a favorite from the start. He is protective, caring and even makes comments I never would have thought a man with such a tough image would say. While there was nothing really wrong with Parker, his reluctance to commit put him second. But in PLAYING DIRTY, he shows his true nature, and now I am so torn as to who Sage’s final pick should be in the last Risky Business book. Her confusion in many of the scenes is very understandable, as both men make such great efforts to please her, thus causing uncertainties to multiply. The emotion expressed by these three individuals is repeatedly sincere and backed by honest feelings, and sexual encounters are fueled by lusty longing. Regardless of whether it is Sage, Ryker or Parker pouring out their hearts to one another in some way, the scenes come across as so genuinely earnest that I was deeply touched on numerous occasions.

While much of the book is focused on the relationship of the three main characters, there are also some very real threats occurring. What really made the danger exciting is the unexpectedness of the peril and who was involved. Several of the incidents were particularly frightening, and discovering what would be the outcome made me read even faster. There are a few surprises that I did not see coming, and how each played out added fascination to the story. Tiffany Snow imaginatively balances the jeopardy and romance to make PLAYING DIRTY constantly intriguing.

Actual Rating 4.5 Stars!!!

Playing Dirty picks up right where Power Play left off and let me tell you, it takes you on one crazy ride. From the moment I started reading this book, I quickly found myself lost in the lives of Sage, Ryker and Parker. When we last left this trio, it was clear that Sage had made her choice. And while she’s happy with her decision for a while, she slowly finds herself second guessing everything. You see, Parker may have said that he didn’t want to be with her, but he was just in denial for how he was truly feeling. Seeing Ryker and Sage together made things become clear. Maybe Parker wasn’t as ok with things as he led on. But Parker and Ryker share a history and history always has a way of catching up to us; especially when it’s least expected. This time, the past will lead Sage right into Parker’s arms. But things aren’t that cut and dry. See, part of Ryker’s past was dangerous and now that his past has caught up with him, it’s put Sage at risk. Together, Ryker and Parker must put aside their differences in order to protect Sage. So much is on the line. The time has come to see just how far one will go to save the one that they love…..

What a crazy, crazy ride! My poor heart has been put through the ringer! I mean, it’s no secret that I’m not a big fan of love triangles. However, I will say once again that this series, really makes me want to change my mind. Does it drive me crazy? Yes. Does it frustrate me? Yes. Do I find myself yelling at Sage for her actions?? Heck, Yes! But, she’s not alone in this. Parker is one frustrating man. So many times, I wanted to yell at him that enough was enough already. He had to make a choice. And Ryker, I felt so bad for him in all of this, but at the same time, he made some mistakes that led some of these things to happen. But, no matter how nutty this love triangle may make me at times, I can’t stop reading. I keep coming back for more. To me, at this time, there is no clear winner. That’s right. 2 Books in and I am no closer to choosing a side…..

Once again, this book had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see how things would play out. It seemed like there was danger around every corner. This is the type of book that made me feel like I needed a bowl of popcorn to eat while my eyes were glued to my kindle. I loved all the danger, action, and suspense. The lies and twists had me turning the pages quickly to find out more.

Playing Dirty is a great follow up to Power Play. This book more than delivers on the angst, romance, action and suspense. And once again, there is no shortage of sexy times. My only complaint is that the story came to an end! I still have a few unanswered questions and am just dying to know how do we come back from the way things ended? The next book doesn’t come out until Feb 2016, and I know I will be waiting in anticipation to see how it all comes together!
